Living By The Royal Greens

London is the English capital which is much more known for being the royal capital of the world. It is not like that this city is the only city having a royal history, but it is probably one of the very few which is home to the royal family till date. The royal heritage and culture has always been the matter of immense interest among the tourists. This has led to the high number of tourists visiting the city every year, increasing the footfall and making London the most visited city in the world. There are a number of places which has royal connection. Among all of them the royal parks and gardens definitely is highly popular and steals the show.

Royal parks and gardens are mostly free to enter and are open to the public almost all year round. If you check out the various royal parks and gardens which are available in London you will come across two names – the Hyde Park and the Kensington Garden. The Kensington Garden is a recent addition to the list of royal gardens open to the public. It is the property under the Kensington Palace and was a private property not long back. However, the garden is among the most interesting tourist attractions in the city. The Kensington Garden and the Hyde Park are virtually indistinguishable from one another. There is just a water body, the Serpentine Lake, which separates the two. Many first time visitors actually make the mistake of confusing these two greeneries to be the same.

If you are visiting London between summer and spring it is the best time to enjoy the Serpentine Lake as well. The lake is generally out of limit for common public, but during these months it is open for public activities. Activities include swimming, boating, fishing, and other water sports and activities. Those who will be staying in London for quite some time might even get a membership of the swimming club. During the other time of the year this lake is inhabited by various types of birds. This makes it for a great spot to watch birds and bird watchers from across the globe get to this place to get fabulous pictures of these beauties. Some of the birds are native (there are those which live in the garden all year round) while others visit this place at specific time of the year.

Both Hyde Park and Kensington Garden have numerous activities to keep the public entertained. You will be able to ride a horse. There is instructor available and so you may easily take your first ride if you have never been on a horse before. You may even enjoy a game of tennis or baseball. There are spaces for such sports. If you are more of a nature lover, a stroll through the park and garden is something that should appeal to you. The Park Lane running by the Hyde Park is one of the most beautiful lanes in all of London and is also home to a number of artworks by many artists of today.

Staying at one of the hotels in High Street Kensington is probably the best part. It will give you easy access to the parks and gardens as well as the various other attractions near the heart of the city.

For online booking of hotel, I would suggest the Milestone Hotel. It is one of the best in central London region.
